The Butterfly Lodge exists to make a difference. It provides the financial support needed for the Foundation, which runs the day care centre and supports other centres in the poorer districts of Pokhara.
The hotel has a relaxing environment in its beautiful garden which provides a great food and drink service. Anyone wanting to work as a volunteer, Butterfly Lodge can help by suggesting various projects that might benefit from the volunteer’s skills and interests. This might involve helping with a school, assist at a day care or medical centre – the list is endless.
There is a lot to do in Pokhara. Walks, boating, sightseeing, rafting, kayaking – and for those wanting to get a bird’s view on things, paragliding and flying in a micro-lite can easily be arranged.
Paragliding and Microlite: Tandem flying involves a pilot flying with a passenger. Both have separate harness that are attached to each other and to the wing. Tandem paragliding flies from Sarangkot a stunning view point. From here we can see three of the highest mountains in the world. Microlite takes you above the clouds. You can feel the air with open crafts and enjoy the windowless photography.
Walks and trekking: If flying doesn’t appeal, Sarangkot is a good place for walks too, as it offers one of the best viewpoints of the Annapurnas. Or walk up to the World Peace Pagoda on the other side of Phewa Lake. For trekking, this is the starting point for many trails into the Annapurnas.
Sightseeing: Visit Davis Falls, Seti Gorge, Mahadev Cave, International Mountain Museum, Cultural Museum or many monasteries and temples. There is plenty to see in Pokhara, most within reasonable walking distance of the hotel.
White Water Rafting: River rafting is a nature and science discovery on the beautiful river. River running is as old as civilization itself but rafting and kayaking as recreational activities are relatively new. A river journey in Nepal is one of the most enjoyable ways to experience the rural area and natural environments of the countryside. Our rafting trips can be anywhere between 1 and 12 days and we provide quality service and the best deals on prices.
Chitwan Jungle Safari: Walking through the jungle or riding on elephant back is an amazing experience. These kinds of jungle activities will treat you to stunning scenery and wildlife. A visit to Chitwan puts you in the natural habitat of animals such as elephants, crocodiles, rhinos, birds and even tigers if you are lucky. The national park is home to numerous rare and endangered species and also provides a wide range of facilities from budget to luxury accommodation.
Chitwan Inside Package: Include meals, permit, accommodation, transportation, and all activities in the park. Accommodation is within the national park itself.
Chitwan Outside Package: Includes meals, permit, and all activities in the park. The accommodation is situated just outside the park. Designed for the budget traveller.
Relaxing: Pokhara is a wonderful place to just sit and enjoy the scenery, drink tea and do nothing. Shopping is good all along Lakeside, whether it’s trekking gear, handicrafts or books. The cafes and bars offer a wide choice of menus and many have free wi-fi. Butterfly Lodges’ helpful receptionist can easily provide information on any of the attractions on offer and help with arrangements.
Please contact in the Reception to book all these activities.
